Ariane

Ariane (2026) is a concertina on the nature of dark and worrying dreams. The ghostly appearance of the images and the slow pace of the sequencing reflect the grasping difficulty of trying to remember a dream on waking. The photographs represent fragments of these onirique landscapes which remain engrained in me when I awake. I used risograph printing with white ink on black paper to accentuate the onirique and otherworldly nature of the photographs. It makes them feel soft and delicate, the way I feel when I have to face these fears and anxieties even when I sleep. In a place of refuge that became a place of unrest, I hope to one day find a thread.

The publication was recently selected as part of the Wales + Brazil Open Call, organised by Ffotogallery, Foto Feminas and Lovely House Casa de Livros. It now part of Lovely House’s permanent collection.
